-Evolution of the coat of arms in its present form-

The Andergassen family, formerly written separately as "An der Gassen", comes from a good bourgeois family from Tyrol. In the three-part shield on a golden background, it bears a male figure armed with a sword, signifying manliness and valour. The white diagonal band points to the "pure mind", the golden stars in the blue field to the "whiteness" and "glory" of the dynasty. The helmet and the crest emphasise the good bourgeois descent. The silver diagonal band testifies to the "strength" of the family."
